READ THE RIDGELINE

A step to land the hit. A shot to bring them down.

Work backward from the impact

If your shot lands short, try changing only the angle or only the power. A higher arc also spends more time in the wind. On a slope, the angles you can aim at change too.

Aim for the thin side of the footing

A direct hit isn't the only right answer. Carving away cliff edges or thin supports can lead to fall damage or a plunge into the water. Aiming in a way that doesn't wreck your allies' escape routes matters too.

Keep an eye on the next turn

Check the turn order at the top before you push forward. Will you hand over the turn within melee reach, or keep your distance with a light move? The distance you move also adds to the cost of your next turn.

Light loadouts have a role too

Run light with a gun and sword and take the high ground first, while heavily equipped allies shell from behind. Not giving everyone the same loadout makes your team better at handling any range.

Barriers buy time

A Barrier absorbs 200 damage and disappears on your next turn. A hit it fully absorbs won't knock you back. Watch out for attacks that carve away your footing.

Adapt to the endgame rule

With rising water off, choose when to attack or defend with the remaining-HP percentage at time-out in mind. With rising water on, secure a route to higher footing early. Either way, falling into the sea knocks you out, so protecting your footing is key.
