Hanafuda · How to play

A two-player game in which you match a card in your hand with a field card from the same month, build yaku from captured cards, and compete for points.

Hanafuda/Koi-Koi goal (What is Hanafuda?)

A two-player game in which you match a card in your hand with a field card from the same month, build yaku from captured cards, and compete for points.

Scene 1 Match and Capture Cards from the Same Month Match cards of the same month, like January pine, February plum, and March cherry blossoms. You cannot take cards from a different month.
Scene 2 Build Yaku with Captured Cards Each yaku has a fixed score, including Goko, Shiko, Sanko, Inoshikacho, Red Ribbons, Blue Ribbons, Viewing the Cherry Blossoms, and Viewing the Moon.
Scene 3 Choose Whether to Stop or Call Koi-Koi Choosing to stop ends the hand and awards the points. Calling Koi-Koi lets you continue, but also risks an opponent comeback.
